Polypropylene is a member of the polyolefin family of the thermoplastics, polypropylene exhibits properties that make it an excellent choice for corrosion resistant applications. Homopolymer Polypropylene is the most widely utilized. Copolymer Polypropylene involves the introduction of a second monomer to the propylene monomer during the polymerization process. The resin manufacture will introduce a smail percentage of ethylene monomer to the propylene monomer resulting in a product that exhibits better impact strength than Homopolymer Polypropylene. When compared to Homopolymer Polypropylene rigidity, chemical resistance and temperature resistance properties of Copolymer Polypropylene are slightly lower.
